This is an opportunity to join a Scottish-based contract research organisation specialising in digital pathology services including the use of artificial intelligence, deep learning techniques and innovative cloud computing processes.

The company is looking to strengthen their IT operations by employing a highly motivated, self-driven, IT Infrastructure and Support Manager to join the team at an exciting time in their evolution to help further develop and expand these capabilities. Supported by the senior management and an IT support company, the candidate will assume responsibility for all aspects of the ongoing maintenance and development of the companies' IT functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implementation, administration, management, monitoring and maintenance of IT assets (local and cloud-based), image and data storage, network security and communications systems

- Administration of IT securities, active directory roles, allocations, recording and approvals

- Supporting all staff in the maintenance, operation, software installations, issues and security of the company laptop estate including Microsoft 365 administration

- Training of staff in the use of IT systems, processes, and operations

- Managing relationships with IT external suppliers and service support

- Defining and implementing IT strategy in conjunction with the COO and IT support company

- Implementation and maintenance of ISO 27001 standards

- Evaluating risk, developing and testing network recovery, backup and disaster recovery plans on a regular basis and ensuring effective change management

- Ensuring the IT infrastructure is maintained, monitored and operates in accordance with established regulatory and legislative processes

- Managing IT budgets, forecast, and enforcing cost-effectiveness

- Aiding in the identification and recruitment of key IT personnel

- Line management of a group of IT Assistant and Support Technicians

The ideal candidate will have experience of some or all of the skills below:

- University degree or equivalent

- Minimum 5 years experience managing IT delivery and/or support teams

- Understanding of ITIL processes and service desk management

- Solid understanding of server computing and networking including cloud computing (Amazon Web Services; AWS)

- Hands-on system and network operations experience

- Strong analytic skills

- Experienced line manager and track record in developing staff members

- Previous experience of working within Life Sciences would be advantageous but not essential
