Enabling us as a department to focus on our capabilities, increase our delivery and responsiveness for our customers and develop skilled technical and data experts. The Security, Service and Operations team delivers change quickly, operates our IT services securely and embraces new technology to drive service excellence for our 5 million customers and 3,500 colleagues. We are now looking for Application Support Engineers to join us on this journey. This means no two days will ever be the same but as a Application Support Engineer you will need to really own it and can expect your role to involve: Ensure business application stability and performance are engineered and maintained. Provide technical analysis and resolution for complex application problems. Providing software application support. Performing analyses on software application functionality and recommending improvements. Code solutions in respect of the technologies that underpin Yorkshire Water Operations, Customer and Corporate systems. Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications. Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and technology partners to improve application performance. Managing code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronised functionality. It goes without saying that we are looking for individuals who are great communicators and comfortable conversing and influencing senior leadership stakeholders. An Application Support Engineer who fosters a culture of excellence by defining and refining methods, standards, governance and assurance and is a technical expert and champion of data, technology and analytics throughout everything they do. What skills are we looking for: Essential: Either experience of working as an Application Support Engineer where you have performed small changes and fixes to applications, OR, experience of working as a Software Developer in either full stack, front end or back end development. Technical experience with a number of the following: Cloud API Management C# 5 and above React or Angular JavaScript Azure .Net core Experience of working in an Agile environment How we go about doing our job really matters to us.
