Enabling us as department to focus on our capabilities, increase our delivery and responsiveness for our customers and develop skilled technical and data experts. Our Data Science team is central to our change strategy, focusing on putting our data at the heart of every business decision we make. Whilst ensuring that the data from multiple data points across our real estate is owned and governed. We are now looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join us on this journey. This means no two days will ever be the same but as a Senior Data Scientist you will need to really own it and can expect your role to involve. Joining and guiding delivery of cutting-edge Data Science solutions across Machine Learning, Open Data & Cloud technology. Prioritising and ensuring delivery of Data Solutions to the Enterprise - aligned to business need and utilising Agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe to deliver a transparent, responsive service. Developing solutions within the Strategic Data Programme that utilises Azure, Cloud and Databricks environments to ensure that we provide the best solutions for our customers, suppliers and colleagues. Owning the accountability for the overall technical product - by ensuring alignment to our TEC roadmaps & wider Enterprise Change strategies. Creating complex statistical and mathematical models and approaches using a variety of tools. Becoming a strong advocate and technical lead for all of our stakeholders across data and analytics solutions. Providing actionable insights, building our projects and ensuring technical assurance and sign off across everything that you do. It goes without saying that we are looking for individuals who are great communicators and comfortable conversing and influencing senior leadership stakeholders. A Senior Data Scientist who fosters a culture of excellence by defining and refining methods, standards, governance and assurance and is a technical expert and champion of data, technology and analytics throughout everything they do. Skills and Experience: Ideally you will be qualified to degree level in a numerical subject such as Mathematics or Statistics We would like you to have substantial statistical, analytical and data science experience Demonstrable applied programming experience; for example, in Python, R or SQL Have experience of working within Cloud platforms and technologies such as Azure and AWS Be confident engineering data, manipulating it and building pipeline practices Be proficient in technical review and assurance processes, QA, model performance evaluation.
