Responsible for technical architecture designs and implementing technical solutions in line with NHSR's IT strategy, and as required by management on NHSR networks and systems. The postholder will provide expert advice on IM&T network and systems. Provision of day-to-day management, support and administration of the org's IMandT infra in area of specialism, to deliver the tech service in line with SLA's.Client DetailsNHS Resolution is an arm's-length body of the Department of Health and Social Care. We are currently going through an exciting IT transformation led by the organisation's Chief Information Officer. The Digital, Data and Technology Directorate, (DDaT) is an exciting high performing function with a challenging programme of work and a department structure aimed at progression, development and high operational and strategic outputs. As a result we are looking for talented DDaT professionals to join us on this journey.DescriptionResponsible for management of complex technical problems which may impact the Engineering Service, and liaison with associated third party organisations, often working under pressure during significant IT problems.Ability to discuss technical issues with end users, which may involve converting technical terms into everyday language to ensure understanding.Delivery of scheduled reports to highlight emerging technology issues and to identify trends in service up to the Lead IT Engineer.Communication of scheduled and un-scheduled Infrastructure activities that impact performance or availability of core systems.Presents complex / technical data, which may hold sensitive and or contentious information to the Engineering Team and to IM&T Suppliers. Contentious information would normally include systems architecture and design which is controversial with IM&T Suppliers to fit business requirements.Acts as a point of escalation for technical incidents from NHS Resolution IM&T system users, this will involve taking ownership and responsibility for incidents and, resolving issues in accordance with operational procedures and any service level agreements.Deal with vulnerabilities to resolution on the network and its systems, considering the implications. This includes patch management, firmware updates and vulnerabilities either within existing systems or new systems. Proactive identification and vulnerability management for all IT Infrastructure, this includes but not limited to external network security, desktop applications, server applications. Service DevelopmentTo design, implement and maintain NHS Resolution's IM&T infrastructure service, ensuring these services are of a high quality and, are reliably provided to ensure IM&T is supporting NHS Resolution in achieving its vision.
