Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Holidays: 25 per annum plus 3 closed days at Christmas

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced developer to work on the C# .NET custom web applications and MSSQL database systems that we design and build; our clients are mainly public sector and our solutions are often high profile.

You will engage with each project from requirements analysis through all stages of the build and testing, and will create Database Schemas, Software Specifications and Test Plans.  You will work both independently and as a Lead Developer within a project team, working across a diverse portfolio of projects, both for existing clients and new ones.

Unusually, we offer the opportunity to develop on both Linux and Windows stacks. The focus of this role is C#/.Net development in Umbraco, but we are very keen to talk to candidates who can in addition demonstrate experience with PHP 7+.

You will create clean, structured code that is well-documented and compliant with GDPR and  accessibility guidelines, and web standards. As a senior member of our team, you will identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement, such as building core code libraries, as well as mentor junior developers and contribute to standards development.

About you

Experience:

A minimum of 5+ years' similar experience in an agency or environment with multiple customers Qualifications:

Degree level qualification in a relevant subject

Essential Skills:

C#/.NET

MSSQL

JQuery

rest APIs

HTML

CSS

You should also be fully conversant with web standards and WCAG 2.1 accessibility and have a good understanding of GDPR, creating secure web applications, the latest security threats and mitigation against them.

Evidence of professional development though industry courses or accreditations would be welcome

Desirable Skills:

PHP7+

PostgreSQL

Javascript

Coding for open source CMS' e.g Umbraco or WordPress

Experience of MVC and unit testing

Agile

Qualities:

The ideal candidate will be an excellent, pragmatic problem-solver and an enthusiastic and supportive team player, willing to get stuck in and provide excellent support to the team members around you.

We'd love to see good interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical clients and staff. You should be able to work on multiple projects at once and work well under pressure.
