A Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a highly skilled resource, capable of defining frameworks, strategic enablement, contributing in multiple disciplines within self-organising, cross-functional teams. They bring the right balance of aptitude and technical skills across the delivery pipeline, with an ability to participate in risk-based test design, agile testing, test automation and service virtualisation, as well as integrating these testing phases within a Continuous integration testing pipeline. You have opinions on software development best practices and can have detailed discussions on topics such DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and modern cloud development platforms such as AWS and Azure. You will use your network and experience to help clients improve their speed and quality, through shifting testing left and implementing modern tools/frameworks.

The Senior SDET will have the opportunity to put their experience into practice and setup, coach, and run the Automated Test team.

Senior SDET will be responsible for strategy, design, Implementation of Automation Framework.Coaching and mentoring team members in QE principlesDeliver high quality test automation services to clients, utilizing best practice processes and appropriate tooling.Responsible for the development and implementation of their test automation and CI/CD practices.Provide services in cross functional teams in areas of test automation, service virtualization, and CI/CD.Understand the tool chain in CI/CD and able to provide thought leadership to bring these tools online.Be involved in internal innovation projects.Focus on improving speed and quality testing on projects using tools.With your expertise, you will support our clients in translating their vision into practical implementation goals.A Subject Matter Expert and point of contact for automation within your teamExcellent analytic and conceptual problem-solving skillsAble to review and analyse system requirements and understand technical architectureDevelop/Build test automation frameworks using at least one tool/language.Implement test automation for test cases deemed appropriate for being automated.Maintain and refactor existing test automation code bases.Proficient user of GITProduce reports and dashboards to make automation more visible on projects.Implement CI/CD pipelines with modern tools.Have a good understanding of cloud computing (AWS / Azure) and how it relates to Planit and our clients.Increase speed of testing within cross-functional teams using tools.Be active in the Planit innovation community and contribute to one or more projects.Make regular progress in achieving required certifications.Participate in Planit mentoring sessions as a mentor and a mentee.Working with client stakeholders to implement test process improvement initiatives.Excellent analytic and conceptual problem-solving skillsDemonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, creativity and a passion for overcoming any challenge to get things doneExcellent communication skills in English (written, verbal); ability to adapt your style to suit a wide range of stakeholders including C-levelConnection with key client and Planit stakeholdersCollaboration with key client and Planit stakeholdersLeading and driving improvements across the domainCoaching and Mentoring in QE principlesLeading Teams of QE staff ensuring best practices are followed and development needs catered forWork experience as a QE in digitalMicroservices, Java (ReactJS)Building frameworks from scratch (Contract, API, unit)Ability to write code and review merge requestsClient Centred Service Delivery

Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or equivalentProficient in at least 1 language (C#, Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript)Understanding of MicroservicesUnderstanding of SQL and Non-SQL Databases.Ability to stay ahead of the curve with technology and advise the business on areas of innovation.Strong and demonstrated communication skills, both oral and writtenThe ability to think proactively and act strategically to achieve outcomes and be solution driven
