Responsibilities include:

1. Responsible for leading on delivery of purchasing and contracts for Digital Services.

2. Responsible for supporting end-to-end processes for all purchasing requests, from Support works, Emails, ad-hoc requests.

3. Responsible for supporting end-to-end processes for provider engagement

4. Responsible for leading on specific contracting responsibilities and contributing to transformation, as well as value for money

5.Responsible for supporting strategic programmes

6. Responsible for working with the Senior Contracts & Commercial Manager to develop, produce and execute contract strategies for key contracts

7. Accountable for co-ordinating / planning the annual contract negotiations ensuring robust systems are in place to secure year on year improvement in quality, outcomes and value for money from contract performance, for an agreed portfolio of contracts.

8. With support from the Senior Contracts & Commercial Manager responsible for leading contract negotiations through expert knowledge of wider provider landscape and leverage opportunities.

9. Responsible for providing statistical analysis reports to Contract & Procurement group on a monthly basis that outlines contract performance, activity analysis and in-depth review of key challenges.

10. Responsible for ensuring that EROS data input by Contracts team is fit for purpose and supports the requirements of the department and the Procurement guidelines to ensure all requisitions are approved first time and therefore do not delay urgent orders.

Essential Skills include:

* Proven ability to negotiate large value contracts,

* Strategic thinker with proven improvement planning and execution in contracting

* Strong Financial acumen, including planning and modelling

* Strong relationship management skills both with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

* Highly effective communication skills - must be able to articulate complex technical issues to a wide range of recipients, both written and verbally. Able to communicate technical information at multiple levels.

* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences

* Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the ability to engage, build and sustain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders

* Experience of driving change at different levels

* Able to operate in complex systems environment, making plans and dealing with issues and risks - making modifications to plans where required

* An in-depth knowledge of NHS operational structures, procedures and policies

* Strong analytical, activity and finance modelling skills along with significant experience of NHS contracting and procurement guidelines
