Senior Dynamics Developer

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Dynamics Developer to join our IT team. Reporting to the IT Department, though working with the Dynamics Agile delivery team, the Senior Dynamics Developer will play an integral role in the delivery of working software that capitalises on our investment in Dynamics 365. You will work to extend and maintain our existing CRM application through the use of the Microsoft Power Platform technologies, Azure integrations and key web technologies.

Impact and Influence:

  • Ability to influence across the development team and in planning sessions for the further enablement on Dynamics 365
  • Ability to get new ideas across clearly to senior management and wider business; de-mystify complex technical change into layman's terms in support of leveraging more from Dynamics 365
  • Provide support, guidance & expertise to support the professional development of the team
  • Operating under the principle of low code, no code where applicable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of Dynamics 365 functionality in line with the business needs and be the go-to person for the Product Owner in shaping the future roadmap and maximising return on the investment in Dynamics 365
  • Development of Azure integrations that connect Dynamics 365 to legacy and current business applications
  • Provide confidence in estimation on the effort of work to deliver a software solution that will feed into the planning process and helping form the CRM roadmap
  • Ensure integrations and deliverables are secure and performant
  • Ensure the successful and timely completion and communication of all agreed tasks
  • Analysis of service provision to provide pre-emptive solutions to the business
  • Ensure quality and accuracy is at the centre of all delivered solutions
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across IT, Functional Stakeholders & Business Change to inform and influence
  • Adherence to policy, process, standards, guidelines and best practice
  • Perform and attend walkthroughs and quality reviews of own and others' work
  • coach the dynamics developers and coordinate priorities to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Be a point of escalation when more complex solutions are required
  • Stay up to date with technology trends in Dynamics and Azure and Microsoft led releases to find creative and innovative ways of exploiting these for the benefit of the Company

Essential Criteria:

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Experience of multiple Dynamics / CRM implementations
  • Experience of developing solutions that involve HTML & Java Script
  • Experience of developing solutions that utilise the CRM WebAPI & Fetch XML
  • Experience of developing solutions that utilise Flow, Plugin & Workflows
  • Extensive knowledge of the capabilities of D365 and Microsoft's Power Platform
  • Development using C# and the .NET Framework
  • Experience in integrating systems using Azure integration technologies, e.g. Azure functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus

The following is desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience of financial services/insurance sectors
  • Experience in developing and using SQL Server databases
  • Experience in developing and managing code in Azure DevOps
  • Experience in build / deployment pipelines and automated testing
  • Experience of delivering in an agile environment (preferably SCRUM)
