This is a pivotal new role in the College bringing together the strategic and day-to-day IT operations.  You will have responsibility for all digital support systems and services - namely our Computer Services and Digital Solutions Teams.  You will be instrumental in driving the Digital Vision, to develop and deliver modern systems and processes, with a key focus on enhancing the experience for learners, staff and our partner organisations. The post holder must have the operational and technical knowhow to assume full responsibility for the delivery of the Computer Services department - including, the efficient performance and cybersecurity of the IT Network, including installation, maintenance and support arrangements for all IT hardware and software (circa 60% of the role will be focussed on delivering Computer Services related activities), whilst also leading the Digital Solutions team (namely Interactive Learning Technology & Integrated Systems) (circa 30% of the role). However the successful candidate will also have a strategic responsibility for the development and delivery of the College's Digital Vision Strategy, working alongside other senior managers of the College, making this an ideal opportunity for both experienced IT leaders, as well as IT managers looking to extend their experience in a leadership role. Ideally educated to degree level you must hold a HND/HNC in an IT related discipline with Microsoft qualifications (e.g. MCSE) and evidence of further professional development.  Significant experience of working in an IT role including experience of running the management of a network infrastructure within a commercial or educational environment is essential, as is experience of designing, configuring and supporting complex networking systems and telecommunication systems.  You must also have experience of managing staff and projects, with procurement and budget management experience.  Knowledge of Microsoft technologies and Cybersecurity is also a requirement. Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English.  Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce.  We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills

Gower College Swansea is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
