Role Overview: As a Data Scientist, working within the National Finance and Administration team, you will support the development of value-adding strategies and data-driven decision making.
The objective of the role is to design, build and integrate (predictive) analytical models, drive advanced mathematics, combine existing data sources to identify correlations between business performance and underlying drivers and integrate new technologies (Big Data, ML) to automate decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities Integrates qualitative and quantitative information from a wide range of sources to address core business demands, identify opportunities and deliver critical insights Manipulates and analyses large and complex data sets to detect patterns and correlations Designs and builds predictive analytical models to identify interdependencies between business performance and underlying drivers Automates and/or integrates analytical models into operational processes Builds, develops and maintains mathematical decision models on strategic and operational level, in close collaboration with internal and external experts Develops simulation scenarios to help provide optimisation recommendations Develops and maintains models through benchmarking and process analyses, ensuring harmonised guidelines & methodologies for conducting different analysis Clarifies, visualises and helps to interpret results of implemented analytical models Identifies opportunities regarding systematic data collection Ensures development output is documented and maintained in national/international report catalogue Ensures the transfer of Analytics insights at a global level Validates new data integrations of data engineers and front end developers (quality gate) Handles ambiguity, generates key assumptions and draws conclusions, synthesizing and structuring analyses into clear, sound recommendations Supports the development of value-adding strategies and data-driven decision making Builds and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders across functions and within the BI Team Acts as a Business Partner to the Functional Controlling team Supports cross-functional cooperation by providing access to valuable information for relevant target groups Essential Knowledge of R(-Studio), Python, VBA, SQL and / or similar data related scripting languages Excellent Communication skills, including English Experience with modern tools and big data technology Exceptional statistical, mathematical and data mining skills Excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint SAP/BI and ERP skills Excellent Communication skills, including English Expertise in Statistics / Economics / Computer Science Statistical thinker Excellent technical acumen Effectively applies maths and statistics knowledge to data Proficient use of machine learning and artificial intelligence Critical thinking and communication, promoting a self-serve culture Desirable Experience in Retail / FMCG or function / domain knowledge is an advantage Knowledge of controlling processes and tools is an advantage
