The overall purpose of the job is to lead a shift of 7 engineers who have a broad range of Broadcast Engineering support skills and experience. The shift lead will be the point of escalation for the entire shift team, accountable for report writing, handover and communicate to management. They will be a hands-on engineer providing confidence and assurance to our customers.

What you'll do:

* Provide 1st class reactive and proactive support 24/7/365 as member of a shift team working a 7-day fortnight rotation * Lead the team to support Sky's Production and Postproduction Facilities responding to issues in a timely manner * Support shift team in their PDP objectives * Ensure rostering targets are maintained * Organise incident queues and handle day to day workload.

What you'll bring:

* Education to HND level in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technologies or equivalent. * An excellent understanding of the television signal chain from the camera glass and microphone to the television screen and speakers at home. Understanding of technical specification and recommendations specifically Sync Reference (Analog, Digital and PTP), SD and HD-SDI, UHD, AES and SMPTE 2022/2110 * Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, Firewalls and Multicast networking * Excellent knowledge of the demands of a live broadcast environment and leading a technical team
