About The RoleIn this role you will be required to be a subject matter expert (SME) in the Unix (Linux & Solaris) area responsible for the delivery of new solutions, service improvements and ongoing platform maintenance and support.
Core Responsibilities: Providing authoritative and specialist Linux and Solaris expertise. Providing authoritative automation expertise Working with Architecture and other peer groups to produced detailed technical designs Identifying and executing service improvement opportunities Assist in the production and maintenance of technical documentation Be responsible for the delivery of business change on the Unix platform Be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Unix platform Be responsible for problem determination, incident management and request fulfilment
Behaviours required: Be a highly motivated engineer capable of working on your own or as part of a team Be driven and determined to succeed Have excellent communications skills Have excellent stakeholder management skills Have excellent problem solving skills Skill set required: Excellent RHEL 7.x /8.x Good Ansible Tower knowledge and ability to write playbooks Excellent Satellite Pro knowledge Experience of GitHub Good knowledge of storage technologies DevOps awareness or experience Strong Solaris 10.x/11.x Excellent scripting skills predominantly KornShell, Python and Bash.
