I am currently working with a client in the Southwest of England who are at the early stages of a large cyber project. They are currently going through the initial process of getting funding approved to bring onboard an ICS System Wide Cyber Security Lead on a 12 months contract.

It is extremely important for my client to find the right interim for this position, hence the reason for coming out to me to search for an interim at such an early stage of the project. They have the view for the interim to start in January pending final budget approval.

Summary:

Create joined up approach to Cyber across the ICSIncreased assurance with creation of systems wide ICS Cyber risk register and ICS Cyber strategyIncrease potential Cyber funding into the ICS due to close links with NHS Digital's Regional Security Lead and NHS England's Regional Director for Digital Transformation lead and ability to create detailed ICS system wide cyber bids and business cases.Reduction in duplication by solving/mitigating cyber issues once across the ICSMaximise use and benefit from centrally funded cyber solutions within the ICSCoordinate joint incident response exercises, including overseeing actions from any lessons identified.Project Management:Lead on coordinating ICS wide Cyber projects via the TDA (e.g ICS and regional procuments such as PAM and Splunk, as well as the DSC central offerings).Provide coordination of and participate in relevant internal and external working groups and provide cyber security advice, expertise, and support where requested, including key strategic developments and service redesign. Liaison with external providers of ICS IT solutions to ensure appropriate standards of cyber security are adhered to.Deliver complex material to a non-technical audience.Cyber Security:Advise on Cyber Security for the ICS organisations recommending actions and improvements where requiredAssist individual organisations to pilot potential ICS wide cyber solutions to then share and expand.Maintain an ICS system wide cyber risk register that can feed into organisations' wider risk registersEnsure all ICS organisations respond to High Severity Alerts within the mandated timeframes and support with relevant mitigation advice.Work with Information Governance Leads to help ICS organisations complete the cyber related assertions of the DSPT.Utilise existing dashboards (MDE, SIEM, DSPT) to help identify common cyber risks and recommend common solutions to help address them.Organise and facilitate ICS incident response exercises.Develop a cyber security training and awareness plan for the ICS that utilizes the DSCs central services (such as KeepITConfidential) and the Regional Cyber Crime Unit's offerings.To assist in the implementation of IT security policies and technical controls ensuring compliance with data protection legislation, Caldicott guidelines and the NHS Data Protection Security Toolkit requirements.Assist organisations with their disaster recovery and business continuity plans and ensure they align and are consistent with the requirements of the ICS.
