NOC Engineer / 1st Line Engineer

We are looking for a NOC / 1st Line Engineer to join a leading service provider, to monitor, troubleshoot and configure a large, European wide Network Operations Centre providing services to hundreds of customers spanning thousands of servers. Full training and support will be provided however we require a candidate with an active interest in IT and some relevant knowledge / experience of Microsoft Desktop / Server to carry out this key role within the organisation.

The company will support and fund relevant professional certifications and encourage personal development and progression for the successful NOC / 1st Line Engineer.

The day to day responsibilities and complexities of the job will be varied, ranging from proactive network monitoring, troubleshooting, liaising with customers and providing technical support on a range of products, and also the opportunity to work with senior network / server engineers on more complex troubleshooting tasks. The most important thing is to have the desire to learn new things and increase your technical expertise with a broad range of technologies.

You will ideally have knowledge of or interest in the following areas;MS Server / Operating SystemsVirtualisation technologies such as VMware or CitrixCloud computingBackup technologiesRouting and switchingEthernet switchingLAN and WANWireless networking
