WHAT TO EXPECT

Working with our best in class technology teams in Manchester you will be part of the full lifecycle: designing, building and running a greenfield API and Events platform. You'll help support the development teams in creating robust, reusable cloud infrastructure, deployed using DevSecOps. Working closely alongside the development teams you'll be driving initiatives to eliminate toil through automation, ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the system, and be a strong advocate for observability and monitoring.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will be expected to design, prototype and build the cloud infrastructure required to support our new API Platform as well as build automation and re-usability into every part of the platform. You are expected to work with a security-first mindset and encourage best practices throughout the development team, also revieing deployment and operational environments, troubleshoot issues and manage technical operations. Being a senior, it will be your responsibility to evangelise Site Reliability Engineering practices to the global Jaguar Land Rover team.

YOU WILL NEED

Considerable experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or similar role.
Working knowledge of containerised apps and the SDLC.
Strong experience with at least one public cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure etc.) and ideally working knowledge of Kubernetes.
Good knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform) and scripting languages (Bash / Python).
Solid understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP(S), FTP, DHCP, DNS).
Experience with SCM systems (Git / GitHub / GitLab) and modern CI/CD tools and techniques.
