Maintenance Electrician (Training in Power Generation)

Are you a qualified electrician and looking to gain valuable experience on a large-scale power plant that will open a number of doors to you upon completion of a fixed-term contract?

This long-running and well-established company provides renewable energy to much of the West Birmingham area as well as other cities across the UK through the energy-from-waste process. They employ a large team of operators and maintenance engineers across their sites and are looking for an Electrician to join their tight-knit team on site on a fixed-term contract.

In this role you will be closely alongside Mechanical and C&I Engineers to provide planned preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules for the plant and equipment. You will also be responsible for rectifying electrical faults, responding to any emergencies and maintaining and testing LV systems.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ qualification for electrical maintenance (or a recognised electrical apprenticeship), LV experience and control wiring experience for PLC/DCS systems.

The role:

* Working on a 2 week rotating shift pattern (days only)

* Carrying out electrical PPM in line with maintenance schedule

* Maintaining and testing LV systems

* Rectifying electrical faults and responding to plant emergencies when needed

* Assisting operations team when required

* Recording works undertaken and keeping track of stock levels

The person

* City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in electrical engineering (or recognised apprenticeship)

* Happy to work on rotating shift patterns

* Hands-on approach to work and able to follow H&S guidelines effectively

* 18th Edition (advantageous)

* IOSH Working Safely (advantageous)

* HV experience (advantageous)

* Confined Spaces, First Aid, Fire Safety, Working at Heights or Mobile Plant training (advantageous)
