Lead Infrastructure and Cloud Design Architect (Inside IR35)Contract Term: 31.03.22 (Extension TBC)Contracting Authority: NHS WalesLocation: Home Based (Main Office in Cardiff. At PSR we are the go-to place for talented contractors and temps for a rich variety of public sector roles.Background:NHS Wales are adopting cloud computing services using a cloud-first approach for both new and existing workloads. In addition, they plan for their cloud strategy to underpin the goals of the DHCW Business plan. The Cloud strategy has been developed and received Gartner analyst approval, in the strategy as part of phase I a total of 18 applications have been highlighted as "easier" to migrate to cloud as PaaS - from current on-premises. In order to facilitate the migration of 18 applications to Azure, a number of pre-requisite documents must be designed, developed and published to the business, not an exhaustive list but may contain standards for the design and use of Azure, policies, procedures. The right candidate will also need to provide Azure design experience of PaaS services to support the highly skilled architects that are permanently employed by the business.As Lead Infrastructure and Cloud Design Architect, your main responsibilities would be to: Design and document standards for existing Azure platformDesign and document policies and proceduresDesign (HLD, LLD), document and manage implementation of designs of 2 site resilient clinical applications from on -premises to PAAS / IAAS within AzureSupport other members of the team as a collaborated effort to perform system discovery and design for a variety of clinical based systemsDesigning and documenting testing plan for designed systemsReview and assist in developing infrastructure strategiesSupport a structured plan for templating future designs for the Azure platformSupport a structured methodology for Infrastructure as a codeSet out basic orchestration for PaaS for some key clinical services to lower workload during less busy times and restore workload at peak times.Support through design detailed monitoring backup and other back-office services for key services Essential experience:Significant Experience in setting up cloud standards, policies, and procedures:With a view to look at supporting new framework plans for Finance and other internal Governance processesTo support charge/view back feesA strong background working with Azure/CloudAn understanding of Azure Best Practices, standards, governance, policies etc.Excels at producing well-crafted Technical DocumentationAbility to quickly become integral into the teamAbility to explain to other processesAbility to technically justify decisionsTechnical skills in designing workloads for AzureThrough understanding of ITIL frameworkSignificant experience of windows, VMWare, MS Hyper - V Desirable Qualifications/Skills:ToGAF or related qualification/ experiencePrevious NHS or public sector experienceExperience of working in large scale NHS settingExperience of designing Clinical based systemsExcellent communication skills articulating both technical and business topics to a range of staff If this Lead Infrastructure and Cloud Design Architect role sounds like something that you would be interested in, please click the link to apply and speak to one of our PSR team now.
