Overview of roleJoining the Solution Design team, you will be involved in projects across the business developing existing infrastructure, and creating new solutions in response to growing business requirements. The ideal candidate will be someone with relevant experience in delivering mission-critical IT systems in a large enterprise environment

Key Responsibilities Provide technical consultancy services for cross-functional and cross-technology projects. This will include engaging internal IT teams and 3rd party vendors across the business. Designing end-to-end solutions to meet the requirements of the business and ensure these are successfully deliveredWork with Enterprise and Technical Architects to provide consistent technical designs and proposals in response to internal customer requests and project demandsWork with the rest of the delivery and operations teams to support problem resolution as a point of escalation for root cause analysis and remediation planning. Be able to lead activities and deliver challenging initiatives to business units across multiple countriesUtilise existing architecture framework, patterns and standards along with combining external, market and technology trends and expert knowledge to help develop and promote use of new onesBe an active team member of the Solution Design team and support colleagues through collaborative peer reviews, standards compliance checks and due diligence Ideal CandidateAbility to take a creative approach to problem solving, with a passion to be deeply technicalHave an acute eye for detail and demonstrate ability to assimilate diverse and complex technologiesAbility to write clear and concise technical documentation covering High-Level Design and Low-Level DesignMust be looking for a challenging work place and capable of working in a high-output environment. Possess a high degree of self-management and motivation to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines with competing demandsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to effectively work with various customers, from senior leadership to 3rd party vendors. The ability to rapidly understand the business, commercial and technical requirements to build solutions is vitalExperience with large scale, complex projects and programmes, requiring highly available, disaster recovery and business continuity compliant systems in an international contextBe able to reduce complex ideas to simple terms and express rationale for decision making to both a non-technical and technical audiencePossesses a broad knowledge of solution areas such as infrastructure, transformation and migration, security, business analysis, applications, integration, service management and understands how these interact to arrive to a solution Technical Skills ExperienceDeep understanding and functional experience in at least four of the following areasNetwork solutions - Cisco switching, routing, wireless, load balancers, VPN, MPLS WAN, SD-WAN, QoS, ACI, Azure ExpressRoute,Security solutions - Email, endpoint, web, firewalls, IPS, IDS, WAF, PKI, VPN, MFA and other identity management servicesTelephony and collaboration - Traditional PBX and VOIP platforms across an international setting. Microsoft Skype and Teams voice integrationServer infrastructure - Virtualisation, storage, managed backup, hyper-converged platformsClient mobility - Mobile device and app management, securityPrivate and public Cloud technologies - Particularly Azure Cloud migration and co-existence techniques. Full range of Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS products including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB and Azure App servicesOffice 365 - Full product stack and supporting technologiesSAP - SAP Architecture and SAP Basis across multiple SAP components and versions (Netweaver & HANA), operating on UNIX and Windows platforms, both on-premise and Azure Cloud. Associated experience of high availability patterns, resilience, backup and recoveryDatabases platforms - Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, MySQL, operating in clustered environmentsExperience in Unix and Linux - AIX and Red Hat EnterpriseMicrosoft Enterprise product suite - Windows Server, AD, ADFS, NPS, DHCP, DNS, Cluster services Experience in the following areas is desirable Experience of middleware technologies -Software AG, WebSphere, JBossExperience in Citrix technologiesKnowledge of formal methodologies and frameworks - TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, AGILEWorking knowledge of data protection and compliance standards of PCI-DSS and GDPRContainerisation, microservices and orchestration technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, CloudBot Occasionally required to travel to Nottingham (Once a month maximum)Please click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
