Role Title: Senior Business AnalystLocation: LondonDuration: 6 MonthsRate: £522.50 PAYE / £670.47 Umbrella The role will work across HSBC's "FRTB" and "K2" programmes, which are both working to change the front-to-back architecture for the IRD system, Summit. The motivations for FRTB and K2 differ, but the intention is for both programmes to switch data sources from point-to-point feeds to a new standard results data store "Vault". In particular, for this role the focus will be on sourcing data from Vault and and the subsequent application of accounting rules to generate journals posted to the GL. The role holder will ensure that common requirements are identified across both programmes, and solution design is fit for purpose for multiple locations and realises a consistent approach to data modelling, data processing and the implementation of accounting rules.

Impact on the Business- Supporting the Product Control Change Manager by producing high quality project analysis- Ensure all documentation is in line with Business Transformation Framework (BTF)- Work closely with IT teams and assess any estimations, ensuring supporting documentation is clear and concise - Clear analysis and design documentation- Data analysis performed accurately and efficiently keeping within planned milestones- Display a strong knowledge of the GB&M product and system requirements equivalent to a Subject Matter Expert, including the ability to transfer knowledge to other team members.- Effective support of the project, ensuring clearly documented processes are handed back into the line

Customers / Stakeholders- Liaising effectively with Finance, Product Control and IT teams to confirm the requirements, data attributes, analysis and design, testing and business delivery. - Convene meetings with users- Clearly documented requirements with user sign off- Building of a good working relationship with the Global Markets business and with GB&M IT

Leadership & Teamwork- The role is a supporting one rather than a leading one, however, there is a significant amount of teamwork that is required as the role will require interfacing to other areas of the team and our IT partners- Building of a good working relationship within the business and IT teams

Operational Effectiveness & Control- Ensure written business project documentation to a high standard and supported by clearly defined business benefits- Provide change management sign off of any documentation- Ensure Product Control leads and ground team support any requested changes - Clearly documented working papers and analysis to facilitate testing and later user training.- Facilitate writing of requirements in AGILE 'story' format with business users Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications Project Delivery experience of at least two years (either through line role, or as part of project team)Preferably with some hands-on experience in delivering accounting specific improvementsPreferably with some hands-on experience in delivering strategic cross- projects aimed at improving data quality, efficiency, and standardization Prior working knowledge of Global Banking and Markets (either line or/ project role) Key knowledge domain is accounting rules application to interest rate derivativesPreferably demonstrate knowledge across multiple asset classesPreferably demonstrate knowledge of valuation (or Product) control activities Demonstrate solid understanding of Project Lifecycle, Preferably with a qualification, experience different delivery models (particularly AGILE)Understand importance of generation of clear project artefacts Able to build relationships and influence others, including business heads, senior managers, business users and technical experts Strong verbal and written communication skills, communicate effectively with all stakeholdersStrong analytical skills, problem solving and an attention to detail Delivery focused with attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard of quality Ability to work both autonomously and to contribute to a team, show willingness to increase responsivities within teamSelf-motivated with a proven rapid learning capability in a changing environment Fully qualified accountant (desirable) with a strong knowledge of Global Market Products and their accounting
