The Senior Manager, Group Risk is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the risk management framework to help our people make smart, informed decisions under uncertainty, take on the right risks and deliver the right results.They will lead development and implementation of the governance structures, risk management processes and other key elements, like culture, that will enable an organisation to understand its landscape of risk as it carries out key decisions and business operations..

They will support Executive Committee owners of risk and their teams in setting the company'ss appetite for risk and designing supporting metrics, rules and assurance approaches to take on the right amount of risk..

They will also work with the Customer-Facing Units and Corporate Units (CFU/CUs) to support the implementation and successful running of the framework throughout the company, ensuring risks are brought together for review, discussion, prioritisation, ownership, action and reporting in a consistent and value-adding manner. This will drive insight and data-driven conversations around risk management at CFU/CU leadership teams, leading to smarter decisions and better operational integrity..

Key accountabilities include:

*Establishes and supports the processes that enable setting of the client's risk management policies and requirements to support smart decision-making and operational discipline.

*Work with ExCo owners of the Group Risk Categories to define risk appetite, identify and manage point and emerging risks associated with key decisions, set the appropriate rules and related assurance to manage the risks.Support the CFU/CUs in their review, discussion, prioritisation, ownership, action and reporting of risks.

*'Joins the dots' / risk insight (e.g. scanning bottom-up risks to identify themes, etc); engaging with subject matter experts on emerging risks

*Support and develop the risk management community in the client's organisation, helping them to engage with the framework, sharing best practice and being advocates of our risk culture;

*Identifies potential innovations and improvements to our risk processes and behaviours;

*Monitors and advises leadership on the client's overall risk mindset, owns centralised risk management-related communications.

*Owns group risk governance and reporting - supporting the ExCo, Board Audit & Risk Committee, Board, Annual Report and Accounts/Form 20-F, Viability Statement.

Skills:

*Stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the highest levels of management and decision-making within the organization.

*Experienced in design and implementation of risk management and assurance frameworks and tools including the Three Lines of Defence model.

*Ability to communicate effectively internally across large organisations with others involved in risk and assurance. Ability to communicate effectively externally to bring in outside thinking on risk and assurance.

*Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of the value drivers of the business.

*Desirable:

oExperience and expertise in decision science, behavioural science, and/or organisational behaviour;

oExperience and expertise in risk / stochastic modelling (e.g. Monte Carlo simulation);

oExpertise in specific areas of risk and strategy - for instance, disruptive technologies, sustainability, capex programme delivery

oExperience in developing control frameworks

Experience:

*4+ years of experience in risk and assurance management in organisations commensurate with the scale and complexity of the client.

*Experience helping business leaders make quality decisions under high degrees of uncertainty and complexity;

*

*Understanding of external requirements in relation to risk management, in particular the UK Corporate Governance Code.

*Familiarity with risk management tools and techniques - risk modelling expertise desirable but not essential.
