An exciting new opportunity to be an integral part of a multi-faceted team delivering major programmes to modernise and transform digital services in Government property estates as part of the Government Property Agency mission to create great places to work for civil servants.Client DetailsThe Government Property Agency is helping transform the way the Civil Service works and reshaping the relationship civil servants have with their place of work. The GPA is a relatively new organisation within Government, created in 2018 and is in many ways a start up. This means although it is a Government Department, many of the systems, processes, ways of working are still being set up.The tech team is relatively new with the majority of the senior team being recruited last year. The team is small (17 FTE currently) expected to grow to circa 30 this year and uses partners for a lot of delivery. The budget per annum is currency circa £14m expected to grow to circa £30m in the next few years.DescriptionAs an IT Business Analyst (BA) within the GPA, you will work closely with the IT project delivery team, government departments and supply partners to establish the requirements of the User Experience for shared technology solutions, embedding these into specifications and working with the wider team to ensure these are delivered Key areas of work/responsibility which includes but is not limited to:- Build relationships with key stakeholders in other Government Departments and delivery partners to work collaboratively in the delivery of GPA IT services- Undertake workshops and 1:1 meetings with a wide range of stakeholders during a discovery phase and build an evidence-based cohesive narrative for what next steps should be taken next- Collaboratively influence clients to adopt GPA service offerings and shared working practices helping them to manage and visualise outcomes- Identify, prioritise and undertake research into large amounts of processes and technical information and then summarise- Contribute to the successful running and improvement of GPA. Be an ambassador for GPA in all external engagements and interactions- Review requirements and specifications to manage the definition of test conditions, plans and test casesProfile- Extensive experience of leading stakeholder engagement and influencing stakeholders outside of your team/function- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of digital service delivery, including agile and service design, and the cultural, organisational, functional and process change required to achieve it- Demonstrate experience of being self driven, able to create, prioritise and deliver projects or work on own- Able to work on a number of highly complex potentially high pressure environments- Able to apply their logical side to investigate problems and evaluate and establish requirements. - Identifying, defining, and managing the objectives and requirements of business users and delivery partners- Investigating, analysing, visualising, articulating, and solving complex problems within an IT service delivery environment.- Identifying and exploring opportunities for service and business improvement- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills- Being adaptable in shifting and uncertain environments.- Communicating in a variety of methods, applying the appropriate methods to each scenario/audience.Job OfferSalary £37,300 - £40,248 - This may be flexible for the right candidate.Civil Service PensionFlexible workingBased in Birmingham.
