We're Kingfisher. You might know us as B&Q, Screwfix, Castorama, Brico Depot or Koçta?. We're made up of 79,000 passionate people, call 1,302 stores home and operate in 10 countries. That's right, we're big, but we have ambitions to become even bigger and even better. We want to become the leading home improvement company and grow the largest community of home improvers in the world!

Kingfisher Group Technology supports every brand and every individual user across our global business. That's huge, and that's not all - we're simplifying the way we work by streamlining and improving our systems and technology, across every part of our business.

We're looking for a Retail Consultant/Specialist with an understanding of technology to join our Enterprise Architecture team, working as part of the business leadership team to develop and maintain the overall roadmap for our stores, contact centre, and retail operations domains. You will build a clear understanding of the business vision and strategy and are responsible for identifying and analysing the execution of change to achieve these.

We are adopting a hybrid working approach with 2 days a week in the office, and 3 days remotely.

The Location for this role can be flexible - we currently have offices in Southampton, London and Yeovil.

First and foremost, you will work alongside the leadership teams to identify and resolve the implications of the business and IT strategies on the existing IT Landscape. You will:

Be accountable for the retail and stores technology domains; from store operations, through in-store sales, to contact centres.

Support the businesses in defining their strategies which will be realised by your technology domains.

Become a trusted advisor who understands the business challenges, strategies, and visions and helps them develop deliverable roadmaps for their realisation.

Research, innovate, and drive the definition of 3-5 year architectural visions and roadmaps in these domains.

Work across the organisation to holistically review, prioritise, and align the business domain strategies and demand for all banners and Group functions.

Support the articulation of business benefits and outcomes, and then the creation of business cases that bring these to life.

Ensure sponsorship and partner engagement, and drive communication of these strategies, visions, and roadmaps across the company.

Develop and maintain documentation of the as-is architecture landscape (overall view on IT capabilities).

Assess, review, and mitigate risks of the as-is architecture (compliance) and ensure these are addressed within the roadmaps.

Support in-flight projects and programmes to ensure alignment to the vision and provide architectural oversight and governance.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience gained within the retail sector over many years. Through this experience you will understand how technology is applied to enable retail organisations to operate and optimise and evolve their capabilities. Ideally you would bring a greater level of IT knowledge, possible from related fields such as planning, analysis, development, architecture, operation or service management, but this is by no means a pre-requisite.

You have experience of working with 3rd party solution providers including consultancies. You will also have a proven understanding of how technical aspects of IT work with the ability to communicate and engage effectively, clearly and concisely across all stakeholders and audiences.

What can we offer you?

Competitive salary and employee benefits including -

Company bonus, travel allowance, award-winning pension scheme, discount at B&Q and Screwfix, Bupa healthcare (up to family cover).

This is an exciting opportunity to join our global business. In return, we provide an inspirational working environment, a competitive benefits package and opportunities to grow your career. Interested? Fab, we can't wait to hear from you. We're committed to equal employment regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status.
