Would you like an opportunity to begin or further build upon your existing career journey and be supported to gain a professional qualification at the same time? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for working with data and numbers? Could you translate complex data and information into accessible and engaging formats for a wide range of audiences to drive real decision making? Can you write an Excel formula and navigate your way around a pivot table, or does the idea of learning to do so appeal to you? Would you like to collaborate with others to deliver outstanding, solution focused customer service? If so, we might have just what you've been looking for. East Sussex County Council is at the heart of delivering a broad range of vital services to the residents of East Sussex, supporting economic growth and helping our vibrant communities and surrounding environment to thrive. In this role you'll join our Workforce Data and Analytics Team as an Apprentice Workforce Analytics Adviser. This is a small team with big responsibilities for delivering all things people data and HR systems related to customers right across the Council. Your day-to-day role will give you the chance to develop a love of data and analysis and involve things like maintaining people structures in our HR information system and producing a diverse range of reports for our customers. The workforce data that you create will support operational activities right across the Council as well as contributing to real evidence-based decision making. Alongside this you'll be supported all the way to study for a Data Analyst apprenticeship qualification which will enable you to underpin your experiential on the job learning with some academic study. Existing experience isn't as necessary as the motivation to work within a data led discipline, an openness to learning, commitment to your personal and professional development and a desire to do a great job. You will need attention to detail though and the ability to work in a team as well as strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel. The Workforce Data and Analytics team is part of our wider HR and Organisational Development (HROD) service, and this is an exciting time to join us. The HROD service has played a vital role in helping the Council meet the challenges of the pandemic and we will continue to play a big part in supporting organisational change as we move through recovery and into new ways of working in future. We pride ourselves on being a modern, forward-thinking service with a great reputation. We set ourselves high standards and support each other to meet them. Our team spirit is second to none - it's one of our greatest assets. If that sounds like an environment in which you would thrive then we'd love to hear from you. In addition to opportunities to grow your career within our large and varied workforce, we offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment, which include a wide selection of discounts with high street retailers, holiday companies and more, access to financial wellbeing resources and products, a salary sacrifice bike scheme, loans for certain purposes at preferential rates and the choice to be a member of the attractive Local Government Pension Scheme, as well as a generous leave entitlement, additional leave purchase scheme, flexible working and a commitment to your professional development. If successful you will be required to undertake vocational training directly related to the role. You will be supported in accessing and undertaking this training with the aim of gaining a professional qualification. To apply for this post please click the APPLY button.
