Infrastructure Engineer - Linux - Hybrid - Salary to £50,000 As a Infrastructure Engineer - Linux, you are responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of transit and access networks. Serving customers across 10 countries, positioned in 8 Data Centres across the globe. Providing expert technical assistance to other team members and colleagues, whilst delivering a network transformational programme that underpins the company's strategic goals. Ideally you will have hands-on operations experience working with large wide area networks, as you join the Network Engineering team. You will be expected to provide both onsite and remote support globally to our technical teams who have critical maintenance and development programs across all tiers of our infrastructure. You will possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment, follow written policies and procedures, and always maintain superior customer service. The successful candidate will:Large scale network infrastructure asset ownership, maintenance, deployment, and assuranceKey stakeholder in platform design, implementation, and optimization projectsProviding escalation support for internal teams and customers across all tiers of the networkTransit, Peering & Colocation expertiseTraffic optimization, availability, capacity management and routing resilienceAdministration of monitoring platformsProduce network documentation to a high standardService management of 3rd party vendorsProject planning and deliveryOut of hours maintenance UK & InternationalRota on call supportActively work on service improvement plans to drive improvements, cost efficiency and performanceProvide full lifecycle management of network/security devices, including reviewing and implementing network upgrades Key SkillsExperience with Linux Operating System and Open-Source Networking tools (OpenVPN)IP networking and Routing & SwitchingExpert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environmentWAN circuits and protocols (Ethernet, VPN)Dynamic IP Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP)Excellent HLD/LLD design documentation skillsKnowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning applications and techniquesExtensive expertise with general firewall configuration and support, including IPsec VPN configuration and troubleshootingStrong experience in network traffic monitoring, analysis, packet capture, and troubleshootingUnderstanding of ITIL methodology in Incident, Problem and Change Management
