C# Developer / Test Automation Engineer Basingstoke / WfH to £80k

C# Developer / Test Automation Engineer (C# BDD API QA) *Hybrid WfH*. Are you a skilled C# Developer who believes in well tested quality code? You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on role at a global SaaS software house that is disrupting the business telephony market.

As a C# Developer / Test Automation Engineer you will promote continuous quality and testability of code throughout the software development lifecycle with a focus on API and Data Warehouse testing. You'll ensure the quality, testability and security of code throughout; designing, extending and maintaining tests, automated test frameworks and test suites with continuous integration; defining testing requirements in conjunction with software engineers and the Product Owner.

You'll take ownership and pro-actively identify areas for process and tool enhancements to drive production and development effectiveness, trial new frameworks and technologies and recommend their use to the business.

The company has a technology driven environment with regular hack-a-thons, coding katas, lunch and learn, training courses and conferences as well as making contributions to the open source community. The systems are highly complex with 100,000 active call logs at any one time, 24/7.

There's currently a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home, in time you'll join the team three days a week (with the other two work from home), in modern, light and spacious offices with a range of facilities including subsidised café with a range of food and drink available, excellent kitchen facilities, pool table and table football. There's a regular shuttle bus from Basingstoke station and parking available.

Requirements:

You have strong coding skills; C# preferred but will also consider Python or Java experience as long as you're happy to use C# going forward

You have experience of programming automated tests from scratch

You have a good understanding and experience of testing RESTful APIs

You have a good knowledge of SQL and an understanding of Data Warehouses

You have experience in testing techniques, patterns and practices such as Arrange - Act - Assert, Page Object Modelling, Clean Code, Exploratory Testing, BDD

You're collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills, keen to share ideas
