Test Analyst - Education Sector

The role holder will work alongside the QA Lead, designing and executing functional, integration and performance checks in accordance with appropriate software testing procedures for new and existing software and application.

  • Ensuring that effective testing processes are applied to the assigned releases.
  • Ensuring that the test case evidence meets the agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Providing evidence and feedback on the results of testing.

Duties and responsibilities

The role holder will work alongside the QA Lead, designing and executing functional, integration, and performance checks in accordance with appropriate software testing procedures for new and existing software and application.

Main duties include:

The specific duties associated with the post will be agreed with the line manager and may vary over time, they will include:

  • Designing and executing software testing procedures
  • Writing manual test plans, cases, and scripts
  • Having a strong knowledge of cross browser and cross device testing
  • Be strong at communicating with various levels of the business, including stakeholders and developers
  • Can work in an environment that requires strong time management and be able to adapt to changing requirements
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Provide metrics on testing procedures and construct dashboards on testing activities.
  • Performing testing at appropriate levels covering areas such as integration, performance, accessibility, coding standards, regression and acceptance.
  • Provide feedback on quality of test scripts and criteria used to assess quality and acceptance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practice IT testing and quality assurance tools
  • Assist in maintaining a repository for test cases and for business and technical requirements
  • Promote continuous improvement in use of testing tools and procedures for testing
  • Work closely with the ITCS Team to ensure all issues/defects are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Keeping abreast of relevant technologies
  • Any other such duties as may be assigned by the Manager that are commensurate with the grade of the post

The ideal candidate should have the following:
