Our financial services client is currently seeking an experienced Senior BA who has experience with Global Transformation Change Frameworks, Agile methodologies and best practice techniques to join their team. Global RBWM Retail Credit Risk manages Credit Risk associated with Retail lending products (Mortgages, Credit Cards, Loans and Overdrafts) for all countries HSBC operates in. The function is supported by several hundred analytics professionals engaged in reporting, modelling and data manipulation. As a result there are significant challenges to the effective management of data within the function requiring close cooperation with partners in RBWM and Finance.
The Retail Credit Risk (RCR) Analytics Transformation Team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support and deliver of migration of analytics software infrastructure from SAS to open source software. It requires reviewing SAS implementations of the existing modelling, data and MI applications, updating and validating the corresponding functional and non-functional requirements, and assisting in translating the implemented algorithms into the meta-language / abstract syntax trees and open source software.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the RCR Data Management function and will be actively involved in the definition of business requirements and implementation activities. There is also a key requirement to ensure compliance against regulatory driven data and modelling requirements.

May conduct one off business research and analysis tasks related to programme or project scope.Content heavy role - Senior Business Analysts must demonstrate strong business knowledge and sound business sense, and stay abreast of the industry, business-wise and technology-wise.Stakeholder complexity - Senior Business Analysts will often need gather requirements and agree designs across stakeholders, dealing with different interests and resolving disagreements and conflicts, and sometimes needing to challenge poor requirements and design decisions. They will often attend and lead these meetings or workshops with no Global Transformation supervision.Multi-disciplinary - Senior Business Analysts need to be able to shape business requirements and solution designs that encompass all aspects of the delivery (customer, people, process, policy, technology - system, data, infrastructure, etc). Often Business Analysts will work across multiple projects at the same time.
Key Requirements: Expert knowledge of Global Transformation Change Frameworks, Agile methodologies and best practice techniquesA thorough understanding of the purpose, values, culture and fundamentals of Global TransformationIntermediate SAS / SQL skills.Experience with Modelling - Model delivery/DevelopmentIntermediate Python skills.Strong analytical skills, particularly in relation to code analysis and validation.An understanding of the principles of credit risk and the corresponding regulatory models and processesAn understanding of systems delivery lifecycles and testing principlesAn appreciation of systems and data architecturesProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint)Financial service Industry experienceExperience with Spark is desirableExperience with Hadoop and cloud technologies is desirableAn understanding of data and model governance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
