As 2nd Line Support Engineer you will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up to external third line MSP. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.Client DetailsMichael Page Technology are delighted to have partnered with a leading legal services client based in Manchester city centre to support them with the recruitment of a 2nd Line Support Engineer. DescriptionWhat you'll be doing:As 2nd Line Support Engineer you will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up to external third line MSP. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.Responsibilities:To provide second line technical support to internal customers, assisting them with hardware and application problems by phone, email, and face to face. To escalate complex queries to the external support provider for resolution when necessary.Update the ticketing system, ensuring the call has been logged and all notes, progress and required actions have been input promptly and accurately.Work with the IT Operations Manager and wider support team to ensure any recurring technical issues are addressed and any training or documentation requirements are identified and implemented.To be responsible for communicating effectively with third party suppliers to resolve issues and improve SLAs. Logging third line support calls, chasing when needed and acting as the point of escalation.To assist 1st Line Support in setting up and installing desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and other hardware as required for new employees or equipment upgrades.To assist 1st Line Support relating to staff joining, leaving, or moving within the Group e.g. passwords, creation of email accounts, security access.Continuously improve knowledge and understanding across the various software and hardware technologies supported by the team.Undertake system monitoring, including disk space and maintenance to ensure system integrity, and minimisation of down time.From time to time, you will be required to carry out any other adhoc duties as requested by your managerManage several open Incidents/Problems and mini projects simultaneously.ProfileKey skills & experience:Previous experience in 2rd Line support roleExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMicrosoft Azure AdministrationMicrosoft Windows 10- Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016Microsoft Office 365 ExchangeMicrosoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNSHyper V management and support.Citrix XenApp management and supportDUO (MFA) management and supportMimecast management and supportGood understanding of Network Technology VLAN and IP routing protocols.An understanding of Wireless network technologiesGood understanding of Security Firewalls / UTMs,Understanding of SIP/IP Telephone SystemsUnderstanding of Enterprise anti-virus suites in particular SophosAn understanding of Back-up technologies (DATTO)Job OfferSalary:£30,000 - £35,000 per annum
