The Day Job

Currently looking for a Senior Java Developer for a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with the existing team; responsible for the development of new services, refactoring of existing services and the migration of solutions. You will become the expert in on premise / cloud native business process management (BPM) and process automation, specifically with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, and support the development with modern on premise / cloud native, Kubernetes based process automation workloads. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting programme of work; focussing on a major transformation and modernisation project.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will involve a number of key responsibilities including:

Accountable for developing and implementing new and revised services and migration code

Identify and raise technical risks

Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes

Working cooperatively with the scrum team to achieve high quality results

Essential skills:

At a senior developer level we would expect you to have experience of most or all of the following:

Proven ability to lead a team of software engineers

Experienced within some of the primary technologies used: Java 8, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, Angular, Apache Camel, Docker or CNCF container tools, Micro services, Enterprise integration Patterns and working in AWS/Azure Cloud environments.

Solid skills in process automation tools, processes and languages like business process model and notation (BPMN), decision model and notation (DMN), predictive model mark-up language (PMML), etc.

Knowledge of tools like JBPM, Red Hat Process Automation Manager or similar BPM tools or business process oriented middleware

Experience with setting up High availability for Process/Decision manager

Good experience with jBoss Drools and DRL (Drools Rule Language)Well rounded knowledge on RDBMS and Database design

Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrable growth mind-set, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems.

Capable of collaborating with stakeholders and project leaders to understand requirements, deliverables, and set expectations on tasks that you will be responsible for

Very motivated to build excellent code and progress towards design

Desirable Skills:

Some of the following would be beneficial for this role:

Experience of Jenkins, CI/CD tooling, DevOps

Working with Git based distributed version control systems (DVCS).

Advanced Knowledge of SQL, triggers, and stored procedure development

Experience Service Oriented Design & implementing and consuming RESTful APIs, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, JSON, Web services and XML

Experience with UI frameworks (Angular/React/jQuery/Bootstrap) preferred

Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat EAP
