My client urgently requires an Application Developer to join an on-going programme with one of their key customers.

DURATION: 6 MONTHS

CLEARANCE: SC

RATE: £450.00 - £525.00 PER DAY (INSIDE IR35)

LOCATION: HAMPSHIRE

The day job

The application developer will join a team of 6 and will predominately support Change Projects involving the implementation of client enhancements as well as software product upgrades, This will involve performing the various activities associated with defining, developing, documenting and implementing software changes in line with agreed standards and release protocols. In addition, he or she will perform operational support and maintenance for existing systems and COTS products, such as diagnosing and resolving problems with users and technical services support staff.

Key responsibilities

*Support Change requests by participating in the business/systems requirements process, estimating effort, coding/configuring, testing, test plan preparation, testing validation, program debugging, defect remediation, implementation, and coordination of program releases

*Creates solutions that meet user requirements, and enhance productivity and effectiveness of systems

*Ensure quality, coding, and installation standards are followed in area of responsibility

*Executes unit tests and documents outcomes

*Escalation of CASS Risks and Issues to BAU Team Lead

*Adherence to Account Security Process

*Works closely and effectively with peer group and other support teams, liaises with Project Technical Leads, Project Managers, Authority focal points and Third Party Suppliers

*Analyses and manages resolution of Incidents and one-off data fixes and resolves technical issues as efficiently as possible to limit penalties relating to Measures of Performance (MoPs)

*Makes the required software changes or data fixes and ensures they are robustly documented and tested in accordance with CASS and Account processes

*Performs all assigned activities within expected quality, cost, and schedule parameters

*Provides technical guidance and coaching to junior staff

Essential skills:

*Direct experience in C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET, PL/SQL

*Meets applicable project milestones and deliverables

*Maintains composure with customers in critical situations

*Understanding of the project technical lifecycle model

*Strong written communications, and ability to write technical reports, design documents and project processes

*Strong verbal communications and ability to confidently and coherently talk at all levels; engineers through to customers

*SC cleared, or SC clearable

Desirable skills:

*Experience of configuring COTS packages for document handling and CRM (e.g. Documentum, Dynamic CRM)

*Experience of Oracle and Windows

*Team player, delivery focussed with strong problem-solving skills

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Proactive, self-motivated and a self-starter Good time management with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
