As a Barclays Java Developer you will join us at an exciting time at Barclays. You will be responsible for building and delivering a cloud native credit processor product for the Bank. This opportunity is location flexible. We will consider requests for locating the role at an alternative Barclays' key UK office from that advertised.
What will you be doing? Provide technical leadership across technology choices and lead and mentor best practices
Promote and drive innovation by actively advocating new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous development
Produce clean efficient code based on specifications
Develop components from UI to back end using modern languages and techniques
Provide technical support on non functional testing, especially, performance engineering covering triage
What we're looking for: Good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures
Proven expertise in building cloud scale distributed, teir-1 systems (high level design, low level design, design patterns)
Experience in writing high quality, readable, reusable, testable code.
Experience in automating process of building, packaging and deploying software on to the platform using industry standard devops toolset
Skills that will help you in the role: Good command on the Java programming language and proven experience in using Spring Framework
Experience in using Open Source or 3rd Party Libraries such as Log4j, Hibernate, Liquibase erc
Good command on service patterns and protocols covering Web Services, API, REST, RPC; experience of using API test frameworks
Profiencieny with messaging systems covering RabbitMQ, Kafka & Mule
Where will you be working? You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
