Then join Shelter as Head of Business Enablement and you could soon be playing a vital strategic role that will help shape our future. About Shelter
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve. At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent. We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation. About the team Part of a wider Technology and Data department, our Business Enablement team ensure that the adoption, management and support of our core applications is aligned to our strategic vision and that we're delivering best value from the investment we make in technology. And, right now, we're looking for someone to join us in our fight for a safe home for everyone by bringing about the technological change that will ensure ensuring we continue to achieve great things in the future. About the role
The challenge here will be to lead and deliver the portfolio of technology and data change projects it takes to support the achievement of Shelter's strategy while ensuring all changes are effectively embedded in ways of working and business processes. You'll also be responsible for the effective management of our application portfolio, including the client and supporter CRMs, plus ensuring a high-quality support function is provided to users and that application development is aligned with business need. And, when it comes to leading the ongoing development of a Technology and Data business partnering approach that will ensure effective cross directorate collaborative planning and delivery in the future, again, we'll count on you to deliver. About you
To succeed, you'll need proven relevant experience, plus knowledge of different project management methodologies and experience of delivering projects using Waterfall and Agile. You'll also need experience of using business analysis and process improvement techniques to deliver projects. Customer focussed, with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, you're comfortable negotiating and influencing at all levels and working with senior leaders on progress, strategy and key decisions and have experience of negotiating contracts and managing software vendors. Building, motivating and developing self-managing teams comes naturally to you too. Indeed, you're used to managing teams, both technical and non-technical, and have a good understanding of matrix working. What's more, you have an innate ability to think creatively, solve complex problems and make evidenced based decisions and are adept at planning and managing team and project budgets. Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
