We are looking for a Cloud Architect to work in our brand new Cloud team! You'll develop and maintain architecture within the Embrace Migration Programme. You'll play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management network. You'll also gain a clear understanding of the programme vision and perform architecture activities for the move groups defined within the Programme.

We are adopting a hybrid working approach, however we can be flexible with location for this role. Our offices are based in Paddington and Southampton, so occasional travel to these locations for collaboration will be required.

Develops and maintains Cloud architecture for the services migrated through the Embrace Cloud Migration Programme

Interacts with the Enterprise Architect (EA), providing insight on business issues and solutions, while receiving guidance on alignment of these solutions to strategic technology roadmaps

Reviews and approves HLD's for the Migration of Services to the Cloud

Ensures that the architecture meets business requirements and is aligned with the target Enterprise Architecture blueprint and strategy

Provides architecture consultation and guidance to the SI and Cloud Service Provider

Understands how requirements relate to change initiatives and how a defined set of products is organised to deliver those requirements

Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.

Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.

Develop and organise cloud systems.

Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.

Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.

Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.

Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.

Proven commercial experience of developing enterprise solutions within Cloud Architecture.

Experience in building and optimising big-data pipelines and architectures.

Understanding of Architecture Patterns

Understanding that spreads across a wide range of technology areas

Deep understanding of effective migration strategies and key architectural components

Experience of working within a working cloud-based environment such as AWS/Azure/GCP

Good inter-personal skills - the roles involves exerting influence

Demonstrated ability to design, complete, and support IT cloud solutions.

Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.

Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud design to management and other IT development partners.
