Accounts Assistant - London/Full Remote Working Accounts Assistant - London/Full Remote Working This role is based in London The duration of this contract is 6 months (potential to extend for a further 6 months) The pay rate on offer is up to £156 per day (PAYE) OR £195 per day (via umbrella) This role is working for a multinational insurance corporation with operations in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions Job Highlights: Reporting to: Financial ControllerAssisting the Financial Controller with the provision of key accounting controls and informationThe jobholder will need to understand and assist with application of correct controls over all payments, receipts and journal entries, including that bank accounts are reconciled on a regular basisThe jobholder will need to assist the team in managing a high volume of queries and requests from the business, and should therefore be organised and able to effectively prioritiseThe jobholder will be required to work with flexibility to meet the demands required for a small team. The company will in turn offer flexibility in working where possible Key Responsibilities:Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank, as a key control to identify and resolve any issues which arise and ensure accurate numbers are reported through the financial statementsPreparation and posting of journals to reflect movements in the accountsPreparation of payments in accordance with the company's relevant payment proceduresOversight of Direct Debit collection processes ensuring any queries or rejections are followed upHandling of internal and external queries including with Customer Service teamAssisting with internal and external audit when requiredMaintaining good filing system Ideal Candidate: Commenced study of AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualificationExperience working in Insurance or other financial services preferredPrior work experience in a multinational organisation preferred Financial Acumen:Strong control environment background and expertiseExperienced in reconciliations and application of financial controlsAbility to identify and investigate unusual financial items and follow up finance related queriesUnderstanding of accounting processes, including accounts payable end to end process General:Strong customer service orientationTakes full ownership and responsibility for delivery of assigned tasks in agreed timescalesKeen attention to detailAble to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented, collaborative environmentGood communication across all teams within the businessAbility to manage key stakeholders when dealing with invoices and expenses
