One of the world's largest and most successful commodities brokers is looking for a new Data Visualisation expert to join their team in London. The aim of this role is to assist in updating and improving their current visualisation processes. Client DetailsData Visualisation Designer - Commodities The organisation is a worldwide provider of commodities information DescriptionData Visualisation Designer - Commodities In this role you are a designer with a focus on data visualisation and information design. You will have experience with D3 or similar code-based tools to visualise data. You are comfortable with online chart building tools such Flourish and Rawgraphs.io, and you are an expert of Adobe CC. You will collaborate with content editors to create compelling ways of presenting wealth of data through charts, maps and infographics. It is your role to make the information easier to understand, through clarity and visual competence. You will be required to work on several projects per day. Time management and a sense of urgency are just as critical as a keen eye for design, data and software skills. Responsibilities:Proactively collaborate with content editors to shape complex information into dynamic visual storytelling piecesUse technology, coding, and online design tools to design and produce compelling data visualisations, infographics and maps (interactive and print)Manage multiple projects per day and prioritise various deadlines and editorial needsMeet all relevant delivery deadlinesProfileData Visualisation Designer - Commodities What We're Looking For:You have a combination of technical knowledge and visual design skills to create compelling data visualisationsYou are an Adobe Creative Cloud expertYou are an expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and R/Python and other languagesYou are an expert at D3, Tableau, Power BI, Flourish or othersYou are proficient in all industry-standard tools for data visualisationYou are comfortable manipulating data in ExcelYou are familiar with databases (e.g., MySQL or others), dimensional data and data lakesYou have created maps using GIS data Experience with D3 is critical for this role Attributes:You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data visualisation, graphic design or journalismYou keep a clear head in a fast-moving newsroom atmosphereYou have experience working with content management systemsYou have the self-confidence to make decisions quicklyYou seek opportunities to learn new skills and ways of visualising contentYou are personable and able to communicate openly with a variety of people with different needs.
