IT Support Engineer - 1st / 2nd LineBuxton, Derbyshire£20,000pa to £25,000pa + Benefits + Career / Technical DevelopmentTechnology innovator dedicated to research and development are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic IT Support Engineer to impact their IT Support Services TeamAs this is a technical and varied role, you will have a passion for IT utilising a broad range of skills and as such, you will also need to be efficient, inciteful, motivated and organised.Your Responsibilities:Effective call logging and handling using the Service Desk management toolResolution of 1st & 2nd Line Service Desk callsDiagnosis of hardware and software problems) within agreed SLAsDealing with faults for IT Desktop, Laptops, Printers etc.Software / Hardware InstallationsManaging and Monitoring BackupsTechnical project support when requiredHardware Asset Management kept up to date within SLA'sProducing and updating support documentationEscalating to 3rd Line Engineers as appropriateAssist with configuration and installation of IT server equipmentImplementing any changes under a 'Change Control' processTechnical skills:Windows Operating Systems (XP/7/10)Server 2003/2008/2016PC builds (MDT)Software installation.Hardware configuration and installationBackup and restore technologies - Veritas/Symantec NetBackup (or similar)An understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.Ability to prioritise work appropriatelyAbility to accurately follow procedures, and the initiative to suggest improvements where appropriateMicrosoft OfficeAny knowledge of one or more of the below skills will be highly desirable:Windows Server 2008 -2016 (Build, configuration, management)Networking ExperienceDeployment Services/MDTITIL FoundationMicrosoft or other equivalent IT CertificationStorage management - SAN/NASWorking with Virtualisation - VMware/ESXI/Hyper V (or similar)An understanding of Group Policy/Software rolloutsRise above your peers and call Experis IT for more information asap!
