Our mission is to build a new platform to bring storytelling into the 21st century and this role is critical in shaping the technology strategy and team to develop it.
Over the last two years Fictioneers have developed the MUST platform, which allows storytellers to create interactive narrative experiences delivered across multiple media types in both physical and virtual domains.
MUST was first used to deliver and orchestrate "Wallace and Gromit: The big fix up", an multi award winning real-time storytelling experience created in collaboration with Aardman Animations.
About the role:
We're looking for a Product Designer with a proven track record and collaborative skills to join our cross-discipline product team.
This is an exciting time to join the team and contribute directly to the future of our platform as we take it to the next level in its maturity and capability. You will be working alongside our team of designers and developers to work on new features, whilst ensuring our work is focused on the agreed desired outcomes, the product vision and purpose, and fits in with the overall product strategy.
This role will see you working as part of a cross-functional, collaborative product team. We know that designers come in many different flavours and acronyms but above all, we're looking for:
You have proven experience working in teams that use product development methodologies to solve complex problems. You understand why these methodologies are integral to product development and can evidence your role in supporting the team with the most suitable activities to the problem at hand. We're looking for collaborative designers. You treasure collaboration, continually looking for opportunities to solve problems with a full team, regardless of their role. You participate in, and maybe even run workshops as a means of unpacking, aligning and exploring solutions to product opportunities.
We're looking for detail-focused craftspeople. Whilst you may specialise in one particular facet of digital product design, you are comfortable producing a range of artefacts to help the team articulate and test solutions to the problem at hand. You seek out and design against available insights, combining new and existing components of a design system, flow or service to originate balanced solutions. You deliver solutions with consistent regard to the IA, user flow, design guidelines and states. You're comfortable presenting these artefacts to colleagues and C-suite clients alike, with a coherent rationale that accounts for business, user and tech requirements.
You must have:
We love storytelling, operating with a lean start up mentality, but with the backing and support of a global agency - WPP PLC. We value working as a team, sharing responsibility for researching and bringing the concepts we create together to life. Our goal is always towards the customer seeking to understand their needs and how best to realise these through the product we bring to market.
Trust and freedom are core to the way we work - believing our team will do the best to realise our vision and provide the freedom in which to relax as well as work.
We want to make our hiring as inclusive as possible, this job description has been reviewed by a range of employees and has passed a neutral language check. We have also reviewed our hiring process to make sure it offers flexibility to candidates that need it.
