As a Barclays Automation Engineer, you will join us at an exciting time of growth in our Channels Engineering Team. You will drive forward automated testing tools and techniques, supporting Regression testing across the Barclays Platform and promoting stewardship and application of best practices within the Test team. This will be the ideal role for you if you are proficient in programming language (preferably Java) with experience of software testing techniques. What will you be doing? Working as an Automation Engineer with a focus on JavaActing as champion of Test Driven Developmen, Behaviour Driven Development and automated testing
Providing support and training to other Test Engineers to help build capability within the Test Team
Working closely with the Scrum teams, and other Teams as needed, particularly DevOps to ensure the Automation is maintained/ improved upon in the Jenkins pipelines
Driving forward automated testing tools and techniques, particularly to support Regression testing across our Platform
Supporting and collaborating with the Team, and taking ownership of driving forward relevant stories through to completion
Keeping an open mind and learning new tooling concepts to strive for continuous improvement
Working in an E2E development environment to produce the best product possible for our Users What we're looking for: Proficiency in a programming language (preferably Java)
Experience of working in an Agile/ Scrum environment
Extensive experience of implementing automated tests
Good knowledge of code repositories like GIT Skills that will help you in the role: Cypress
Component testing with JavaScript
JIRA (Issue tracking and Test management)
DevOps experience (Jenkins - configuring pipelines) Where will you be working? You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
