A Lab is a co-located team who work together on key projects to deliver value at pace by designing services that people find useful, easy and engaging to use. About the role:

An exciting opportunity to lead the establishment of an 'in house' Data Science capability within the Business and Commercial Risk Lab, part of Group Transformation at Lloyds Banking Group The team delivers strategic change across the Commercial Bank focussed on transforming our Credit Risk Management capabilities As the Lead Data Scientist, you'll work in a multi-disciplinary team to identify, design and build strategic capability to support our Commercial Customers as part of LBG's wider strategic change programmes As Chapter Lead, you'll lead a team of Data Scientises as their line manager, supporting them to grow, develop and deliver their goals. You'll focus on teamwork to facilitate the success of others bringing energy and passion to inspire the team If you would like to work in and help craft a vibrant, agile team making a real difference to customers, this is the place for you!

Here's where you'll make a difference:

Blend first-hand coding / data sourcing capability with a higher level strategic / architectural capabilities to deliver incremental data driven value across Risk focused team

Drive the transformation of our data capabilities using latest emerging technologies and services, finding opportunities / market insights through (but not limited to) a network of internal and external data science professionals

Build, lead and inspire a team of data enthusiasts and visionaries to support our Bank of the Future agenda.

Provide key insights in support of existing initiatives and / or upcoming opportunities

Demonstrate strong organisational awareness and ability to collaborate with teams across the bank where appropriate

What we need from you:

Previous line management experience is essential

In-depth knowledge of statistics and maths, supervised & unsupervised learning, NLP and time series would be great but not essential

Expertise in Python, should be able to write production quality code in Python. Knowledge of R or PySpark ML libraries will be an added advantage

An interest in working on a cloud platform, particularly Google Cloud Platform.

Good understanding of database technologies and familiarity of Tableau or Power BI or other visualization tools would be helpful

Also looking for knowledge of GitHub management and agile ways of working.
