Purpose of Job

The Trading and Risk Management (TRM) team is responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining Beacon Platform's front and back office trading web applications using Python, the proprietary Beacon Dependency Graph and Glint, the Beacon UI framework. 

The successful candidate will help TRM continue to grow, exercising an eye for detail across all aspects of the development lifecycle while maintaining organization and good code hygiene. This engineer should be able to effectively communicate both with Beacon's internal teams and with clients. The successful candidate values teamwork and collaboration and is willing to mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

Work with a team to design, develop, enhance and maintain Trading and Risk Management applications in Beacon's Python Environment Platform.

Collaborate with our clients (asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, investment banks and commodities trading companies) to adapt and customize our cloud-hosted Trading Risk Management platform. 

Work with internal and external clients to gather and analyze requirements and product enhancements

Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback to the team.

Required skills and experience

5+ years of software development experience using Python

Experience designing and building customer facing applications

Familiarity with Git

Experience with Trading and Risk Management systems strongly preferred

Empathy for clients and desire to solve customer problems

Good communication skills

Ability to work in agile-based project management structure
