This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of working in a Development team to diversify their skills - working on business applications that support large scale environmental schemes in the sustainable energy sector. You'll be part of a team that includes Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Automation Testers, and work with our IT Infrastructure team to develop and deliver functionality for key Ofgem business applications. You can expect to contribute to the full development process thorough the project lifecycle and to play your part in bringing about improvements such as continuous integration, automation of build, deploy and test etc.
As well as previous Development experience you should offer a good knowledge of T-SQL, including Stored Procedures (SQL Server) and experience of using Net, C#. You should also be able demonstrate an understanding of database tools such as SQL Profiler. It's important that you can collaborate well in a team environment and that you can apply a methodical approach to problem solving. Strong candidates will also be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of some of the following:
Object-Oriented Design;
Development techniques and design patterns;
Agile Methodologies;
Relational database design;
Unit Test Frameworks and Tools (Nunit, Moq, etc);
Version Control tools and workflows (TFS, GIT).
