We're looking for a talented individual with previous experience of technical writing to be part of our award-wining team. Drawing on the expert contribution of product owners and technical stakeholders, you will produce content for various technical publications, such as installation, operation, and servicing guides, technical bulletins, release notes and product feature guides. You'll make sure that all material is accurate and user-friendly and consider opportunities to utilise media tools differently e.g. online tools, interactive PDFs etc. You'll also play a part in reviewing our current product literature to identify and address any gaps in provision. As well as producing material for new products, you'll also play an involved role in the development and improvement of existing products - updating supporting literature as required. You'll also work closely with our CAD design team, contributing to the integration and creation of technical illustrations.

It's important that you can bring an informed perspective to your subject matter, so good all-round IT and technical knowledge will be essential, along with a talent for translating complex technical information into tailored and accessible guidance for different users. We expect that you'll have a keen eye for detail, excellent proof-reading skills, and that you'll know where apostrophes should go!

Other skills and experience that would enhance your application (but aren't considered to be essential requirements) include:

experience in Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) production;

experience of creating SGML/XML and DITA data modules, Common Source Data Base (CSDB) and Content Management System (Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.) authoring environments;

knowledge of authoring technical publications for mobile, tablet, and other interactive environments (such as augmented reality, and virtual reality);

to be able to use packages such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel etc.

to have worked with HTML 5, CSS, JAVASCRIPT or similar.
