The successful candidate will ensure that their specialised machinery is performing to its optimum efficiency and that post machine operations are also working effectively.
You will likely be a Graduate Engineer with a strong Lean background. Lean Six Sigma is a must have. You will be familiar with Trumpf/Salvagnini/Amada machinery and associated downstream processing such as welding/Haegars/Spinning/Paint.
Direct reports will be within Production Engineering. So exceptional management skills will be necessary to lead a small team into knowing 'what good looks like'.
This role will report to the Director of Operations who will introduce you to the existing product range and the wider team.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Ensure all machine shop processes are defined and documented to meet optimum efficiency
- Investigate new techniques and equipment to ensure costs are reduced wherever practical
- Recommend new machinery and processes to develop our current knowledge and processing ability
- Ensure Machinery is maintained correctly and introduce maintenance techniques/processes to ensure OEE targets are achieved
- Liaise with Engineering on NPI
- Set programming standards of working for profiling and bending
- Manage toolroom resources to support production
- Complete Specific projects as defined by Engineering and Director of Operations
- Develop Production Engineering
- Be a Lean Champion and help develop C.I Culture change
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by your manager
