The Vendor Service Manager is responsible for all vendors within the IT function,You will own and must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed products, services and solutions.

Client DetailsLeading Global Course and Apprenticeship ProviderDescriptionWork with the Technology Commercial team to implement the existing strategic direction, mission and vision of the vendor management office and operational objectives and processes to ensure the successful operational execution of the function.Create and maintain training and performance evaluation materials for resources so that a consistent approach is used across all strategic vendors/partners.Ensure that the right resources are in the right role based on their skills and competencies through development of engagement strategies, status and review structures, and performance targets and reviews.Collaborate with internal stakeholders - including IT and business resources, sourcing and procurement - to develop criteria and best practices for vendor selection. Provide support to procurement teams to optimise the cost-effectiveness of negotiations and ensure compliance of negotiated agreements to established vendor management policies and practices (such as articulation of service levels and deliverables, etc.).Manage the maintenance/enhancement of tools for use in vendor management, including vendor tracking, analytics and performance management tools. Working with the Technical Commercial Team, to develop the appropriate performance dashboards for performance, tracking, reporting and risks for all strategic vendors and partners (Operational alignment and standardisation).Partner with the Technical Commercial and Procurement teams to oversee maintenance of strategic vendor agreements and ensure that they are current/up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Enforce regular reviews in line with SLA's and performance metrics (or define where gaps exist)Manage vendor relationships as the key point of contact between specified vendors and the business.Serve as a point of escalation for vendor issues and disputes and drive those issues to resolution.Ensure that the metrics used to evaluate performance are properly tied to business outcomes and bias-free, and that the associated communications around these metrics are clear.Maintain vendor risk assessments or risk registers in cooperation with risk, privacy, business continuity and security teams.Commercially aware and skilled in executing delivery value from 3rd party outsourced arrangements Manage our partner portfolio in line with SIAM modelling and the strategic alignment of all our partner relationships. ProfileYou must be able to demonstrate significant experience in vendor management or a related field.Proven experience in successfully driving performance with strategic vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts (including negotiations), and issue and dispute resolution.Experience in working and managing outsourced services.Experience driving change and facilitating collaboration and action.Broad knowledge of the IT industry and the products and services provided by technology vendors.Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirementsWorking knowledge of contract management and negotiationUnderstanding of the vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.Solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, capitalization, return on investment, and total cost of ownership.Ability to effectively interpret and act on data visualizations and analytics, particularly with regard to trends in vendor performance and activity.Executive presence and comfort interacting with both internal and vendor senior leadership.Ability to influence without authority and collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders.Communication of business concepts and needs in technology relevant terms as well as translation of technical concepts into business/nontechnical points.Relationship skills that will facilitate positive vendor behaviours, establish healthy new engagements and deepen existing ones.Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties.Thorough understanding of commercial terms (warranties, intellectual property, indemnification) in IT agreementsFacilitating, negotiating and influencing to manage virtual teams of people to reach a consensus.DESIREABLES:Experience with IT standards such as ITIL and COBIT is desired Relevant professional qualifications, that might include:

Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE)

Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).
