The Application Support manager is responsible for stabilising app services.

As well as growing and motivating a specialist team and having a large contribution to the strategic direction of Applications within the business.Client DetailsA Global leader in educational courses and apprenticeships.DescriptionDefine and inform thinking and strategy in line with the Application Lifecycle, ITIL frameworkInfluence the direction of software and application rollouts for the organisation utilising strong technical understanding of software systems.Oversight and ownership of platforms, integration and support of both bespoke and core applications. Develop a strategic roadmap for internal and external business facing applicationsCommercial control and management of relevant P&L and inputs to the overall budget.Effective implementation and management of the Incident and Problem management process.Lead and coordinate the IT testing and release and upgrade cycles across supported applications. Identify opportunities to drive value and improve the performance of the existing and future applications.Manage stakeholder relationshipsEnsure that the metrics used to evaluate performance are properly tied to business outcomes and bias-free, and that the associated communications around these metrics are clearProfileYou must be able to demonstrate significant experience in application management and related technologies in line with industry best practice. Experience of the Devops culture as it pertains to application management and the wider technology organisation. Experience and execution of ITIL methodologies in the deployment and support of the application lifecycle. Ability to effectively interpret and act on data visualizations and analytics, particularly with regards optimization and performance adaptability. Ability to influence without authority and collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders. Communication of business concepts and needs in technology relevant terms as well as translation of technical concepts into business/nontechnical points. Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties. Facilitating, negotiating and influencing to manage virtual teams of people to reach a consensus.
