This employer is a multi-award winning, vertically integrated company based in Wrexham, North Wales. With over 50 years of experience in the PVC industry, they offer one of the most advanced and innovative production processes in the UK producing reprocessed, blended and virgin compounds for a variety of applications.
This is a rare and unique opportunity for an experience 'hands-on' multi-skilled maintenance engineer who has genuine aspirations to develop their career further into management. The company have grown, developed, and invested heavily over the last 10yrs and are the early stages of their next phase of sustained growth.
They are looking for an ambitious individual with the drive and energy to build and lead a team, develop plant, put in maintenance procedures, processes, implement, improve, make key decisions, and to really make the role their own over time.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for the maintenance of two sites with a mixture of old and new machinery, industrial and high-speed manufacturing environments, including State of the art automated robotic packaging machinery.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining both mechanically & electrically multiple state of the art brand-new injection moulding machines, extrusion machines and all other plant equipment, tools and systems used in manufacturing, engineering, and production processes at two sites (70% Wrexham & 30% Accrington)
- Periodic maintenance checks, planning equipment upgrades and machinery modifications
- Identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns, and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out
- Stocks of supplies and equipment/consumables are identified and stocked
Required Skills
- A relevant approved qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering such as C+G/NVQ Lv3 apprenticeship, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
- Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment desirable with a Quality and H&S mindset
- In depth knowledge of machinery such as injection moulding, extrusion and plastic recycling equipment such as pulverisers, granulators and shredders etc.
- Clear communications and understanding of basic operational instructions, both written and verbal

- Flexible to travel (dual site responsibility)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Flexible 'can do' attitude
- Excellent level of using engineering tools/equipment
- Ideally Cheshire based (however flexible) as covering two sites - Wrexham and Accrington

- £40-45k basic salary, OTE c£60k p/annum

Hours: Hours Mon-Thurs 8.45am-5pm & Fri 8.45am-3.45pm
