Due to sustained growth, our client is looking to recruit an additional Project Manager to participate in the management, execution and delivery of engineering activities, relating to the development of a new range of electronic applications and products.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be qualified to HND or Degree level in either Electronics, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.You will have proven project management experience and a successful track record in coordinating Engineering based projects. Ideally you will be a qualified Project Manager holding a PRINCE2, APMP or PMP qualification, or similar. You will be able to demonstrate a history of successful product delivery within a multi-discipline engineering environment.The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in the development of complex products within a multi-disciplined engineering environment. Experience of working in a design environment that employs a robust approach to product development activities would be advantageous!While principally operating as a Project Manager, the successful applicant will also be a practising Engineer and will spend some time contributing directly to product development activities.The role will involve working as a member of a multi-disciplinary product development team, ensuring that project development activities are coordinated efficiently and effectively throughout the entire development life cycle.The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator and be able to operate effectively at all levels of the organisation and be comfortable with customer interaction.Key DutiesUndertake direct management and reporting of key projects.Ensure that product development activities are completed within the required project budget and timeframe.Produce and review resource forecasts and manage any resource requirements/conflicts for product development projects.Ensure compliance with New Product Introduction process and ensure effective engagement/communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Co-ordinate product development activities through a multi-disciplinary engineering team, and to provide cross department assistance and support, enabling the effective manufacture and ongoing sustainment of developed products.Hands on contribution to all elements of the engineering lifecycle, including, requirements capture, design, implementation, verification, qualification, compliance and support activities.Technical authoring of documents required by the design life cycle.Identify and implement process and productivity improvements.Assist in the generation and review of bids and proposals.Required ExperienceExcellent project management, engineering lifecycle and organisational skills.Enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated, flexible and determined to succeed.Highly motivated towards providing complete customer satisfaction and in the generation of world class products.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.Honest and realistic in reporting project quality, cost and schedule.The ability to work independently using initiative and innovation to solve technical problems.Well organised with the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.Ability to prioritise and multi-task, whilst maintaining attention to detail.Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.Be able to demonstrate an aptitude towards successful resource management.Collaborative style, strong communication skills, and an ability to influence without direct authority.On occasions, a willingness to work outside of core office hours with occasional UK and International travel.
