Digital Software Architect
Location: Various Locations
We have roles available in the UK across several locations including Telford, Southend, Worthing, Holborn, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. flexible and home working is available, but we are looking for people who can travel to client sites, are flexible in terms of assignment location and are prepared to stay away from home if required.
An overview of the role
If you do your best work being a designer, developer and communicator of transformation through software, the Digital Software Architect is a key role in defining and delivering Digital transformation. You should thrive on variety and enjoy working across the full lifecycle of a project: help define a digital transformation, create a vision for a service, work with agile teams to deliver on that vision, create an automated continuous delivery pipeline, work with DevOps teams to understand and improve the service in production. If you are a passionate, energetic technologists who can create solutions, work with clients, lead development teams and occasionally help with winning work, we will want to hear from you.
You can expect to work closely with the DevOps team, owning the technical software solution, getting your hands dirty when required and ensuring that the team use the most up to date tools and techniques to deliver excellent digital services for a variety of UK departments and clients. Primarily working with cloud native and digital technologies such as micro-services, containers, DevOps and CI/CD. The team generally have an engineering background combined with the vision, customer facing skills, commercial acumen and a proven technology experience and project delivery track record.
Person Specification and Experience required:
Experience of client-facing roles and stakeholder management
Strong communication skills at all levels; clients through to engineers
Designing and owning software solutions
Strong software engineering/development background
Strong software architecture skills
Strong project delivery experience
Understanding of cloud native principles
Experience of delivering web-based services, ReSTful APIs and complex integrations
Experience of modern software architectures such as micro-services
Experience in delivering using Agile
Experience and passion for leading teams of software engineers
Additional skills also of interest: NoSQL databases o Development frameworks such as Play!, Dropwizard, angular.js, node.js. o Containerisation, Kubernetes
