Main Duties & Responsibilities

Lead on creating, designing and implementing infrastructure technologies, solutions and services such as: computing, Azure storage, Azure networking and physical Cisco Meraki networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS and open source packages and solutions, and virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS Responsible for maintaining and continually improving the performance, capacity, availability, continuity and integrity of the Commission's SD wan and Cisco Meraki network, Office 365 email and gateway and Cyber SOC infrastructure in-line with agreed SLA's. These services are a combination of internally provisioned services, cloud hosted services and services from 3rd party suppliers. Responsible and leading on the implementation of the Cyber controls to meet the HMG minimum Cyber Security standards and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications by leading on the implemention of the Cyber Mitigation plan. Agree service level agreements (SLAs) and engage third party vendors Knowledge of most of the following network technologies: LAN, WAN, wifi, data-centre LAN, SD wan networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network-specific security and remote access technologies and approaches Leading on Azure network design, SDwan routing protocols, microsoft VPN gateways and cloud security services and implementation and maintenance to enable and protect cloud technologies and CCEW networks Leading on SD wan network based technologies such as Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches and routers. These include security controls for Microsoft Azure cloud and Cyber improvements including the SOC Supporting the rapid and consistent delivery of projects and change programmes by leading on implementing technical services or the provision of new environments, provision of network and cloud infrastructure and any other required resources in-line with Commission standards and highlighting any appropriate risks to the project team and infrastructure manager. Leading as a Senior member of the infrastructure team, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues, working in a collaborative manner to ensure that the team's technical skills and abilities are built up, improved and expanded. Providing technical support, assistance, input and advice to and leading on the technical designs, architectural changes and technical implementation and upgrade plans. The adherence to policies, principles, standards and procedures used in the building and maintenance of new and existing technical services. Ensure that service processes, documentation and governance are followed, maintained and updated where required for the commissions technical services. Undertaking regular process reviews to provide assurances that each service has an established and tested DR Plan which adheres to the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) process

Undertaking ITIL based Incident, Problem and Change processes Support in all Microsoft environment changes to enable cloud technologies and windows server and windows 10 escalated BAU incidents

Change Management - leading on the design, analysis, development, documentation and implementation of changes based on individual requests for change or elements of change within a project including the presentation and discussions of RFC's to ITIL based CAB and support in all escalated issues including environment changes to enable cloud technologies and windows server and windows 10 escalated BAU incidents
