Tomorrow's ONR starts with today's data architecture  The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. With such an important task, we need the best IT and systems, now and tomorrow. In this exciting, newly created role, you'll shape the data architecture that will support ONR in the future.   The role As Data Architect, you'll be at the heart of our IT modernisation,. Taking advantage of latest technologies, Joining our BI function - but with influence far beyond - you'll use your vision and expertise to define, develop and deliver our enterprise data architecture. It's a critical senior role, where you'll lead improvements that are integral to BI strategy, day-to-day technical management and the wider technology transformation roadmap. In short, there's tremendous scope to shape and refine - but you'll need the credibility to bring our team with you on the journey.  Guiding ONR through data design, management and implementation, you'll operate at enterprise level, but also tackle detailed data architecture and modelling. You'll look at data-warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, as well as security and controls. You'll then work with system and service owners to make change happen. That means building relationships ONR-wide and influencing our teams. The person This is a challenge for a skilled professional. You'll need extensive experience in Data Architecture and of developing enterprise data strategies. We need someone who's up to speed with design standards, tools and practices, and data lake architecture, with strong analytical skills. Along with this knowledge, you'll need the ability to communicate vision, plans and future benefits. Motivated, engaging and highly technically capable, you'll see the big picture and have a passion for data. You will understand how to influence the people to move away from legacy spreadsheets.      The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £53,543 - £61,921 (plus a London Weighting allowance of £4,052). Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits).
